John Cena undergoes emergency surgery, advised to stay out for weeks

Cena underwent an emergency surgery this week following which he has been advised to stay out for weeks

The feud between John Cena and Seth Rollins really heated up on Monday Night Raw, and it looked like their match at Summerslam was all but confirmed. However, things took a turn for the worse when Rollins broke Cena’s nose during their bout on Monday.

Backstage word is that Cena had emergency surgery earlier this week and the doctors have recommended him to stay out of the ring for several weeks. The surgery was done to correct some breathing issues for Cena, and there is also talk of a reconstructive surgery being required

Apparently, the medical advise given to Cena at this time is for him to stay out of the ring and miss several weeks of in-ring action. Considering SummerSlam is just three weeks away, that would cause him to miss his proposed match with Seth Rollins.

WWE on their part has pulled Cena from this weekend’s live events and he is no longer advertised for next week’s RAW. It’s expected that Cena will face Rollins on August 23rd at the Barclays Center in NY but that hasn’t been announced yet.
