Paul "Triple H" Levesque has kicked off the new era in WWE by resetting some of the biggest stories and characters of the last few years. Fresh faces have been crowned champions, and there is a draft happening, starting this Friday night.

But as it happens recurringly, The Game also has to make some tough decisions along with other higher-ups to release talents due to reasons such as a lack of solid storylines for them or their recent performance. This was reportedly one of the predominant reasons for the latest cuts, which included Jinder Mahal, Xia Lee, Xyon Quinn, Veer, Sanga, and Von Wagner. Cameron Grimes has now joined the list.

Taking to Twitter/X, Cameron Grimes disclosed that he was informed by the Stamford-based promotion that he was let go. The former NXT North American Champion said that signing with the global wrestling juggernaut was the last thing he was able to tell his late father five years ago, who was a professional wrestler and promoter himself.

Furthermore, he expressed gratitude to the company and added that the release is only going to motivate him to shift gears.

Cameron Grimes joined WWE in January 2019 and performed on the developmental brand till 2023. The 30-year-old won the NXT North American Championship during his stint.

Grimes was called up to the main roster following the Draft last year. He made his main roster debut on the May 12, 2023, episode of SmackDown, where he defeated Baron Corbin in six seconds. He had previously worked for TNA.
