Following the release of Alberto Del Rio from the WWE, some of his fellow wrestlers have been sympathetic towards the Mexican.
One of them stated that Cody Barbierri, who was slapped by Del Rio that led to his firing, is a “jerk off who was very arrogant” but also said that he is intelligent and his shrewd attitude has allowed him to slip out of the radar of WWE officials.
Another person said that Barbierri often has had problems with the roster while on the road. He seldom talks down to wrestlers and has been involved in a few tangles over the past year.
But WWE has decided to let all those things slide as he has been an important figure in the social media department. Also, it is believed that Barbierri has the backing of Stephanie McMahon.
