Cody Rhodes has all the momentum in the WWE Universe coming out of WrestleMania XL. New details have now been revealed on a major project for the second generation superstar, including potential time away from the ring, and how he feels about the new gig.

The Undisputed WWE Champion has been announced for a cameo role in the upcoming theatrical reboot of The Naked Gun, which was a series of crime-spoof comedies in the 1980s and 1990s, made famous by the late, great actor Leslie Nielsen. Rhodes is set to play himself in the movie, but he may also be one of multiple hypnotized characters in a tribute to the original 1988 comedy. The reboot is set to be released theatrically on Thursday, July 18, and will star Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson, who is to portray Frank Drebin Jr., the son of Nielsen's iconic character.

The American Nightmare is said to be "super excited" about filming for the project, which was described as a "huge movie" by a Hollywood source, according to an update from The Daily Mail. Rhodes reportedly wants to make this something that's fun for himself and funny for the viewers.

It was noted that while Cody may have a cameo role in the project, the role was described as "important" and one that lends itself to the full story of the film.

There's been some speculation on Rhodes missing WWE time due to filming, but principal photography will take place in Atlanta, Georgia, where he lives. A recent casting call revealed that filming is scheduled to begin on Monday, May 6 and end on Friday, June 28, two days before he turns 39.

If Rhodes is unable to wrestle at all while filming for some reason, which seems unlikely, then he could miss King & Queen of The Ring on May 25 in Saudi Arabia and Clash at The Castle: Scotland on June 15.

Big names set for the final WWE RAW before Backlash France

Next week's WWE RAW will serve as night two of the 2024 Draft, and the Backlash: France go-home show for the red brand. Tonight's loaded RAW episode saw Becky Lynch win the vacant Women's World Championship, so she will likely be there next week to celebrate the win.

Logan Paul has been announced for next Monday's RAW. The United States Champion previously expressed interest in leaving SmackDown due to the Netflix deal.

WWE has also announced a big six-man match for next week with Jey Uso, Ricochet, and Andrade vs. The Judgment Day's Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, and Damian Priest. It was previously announced that CM Punk will appear on the show.

The April 29 RAW will air live from the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri. The event is expected to be sold out.
