The Rock aka Dwayne Johnson is the living example of how big a pro wrestler can get. The People’s Champ was the first third-generation superstar in the WWE when he made his debut with a goofy Rocky Maivia gimmick at Survivor Series 1996. He was seen as the blue chip investment for the WWE as they pushed him right from the get-go.
The Rock has had a fairytale career transition from the squared circle to the glamorous world of Hollywood. However, despite his busy schedule and multiple movie deals, ‘The Great One’ has not lost his touch with the million and millions of his fans.

This also made him the most successful WWE superstar to make an electrifying crossover into Hollywood. There have been many like Stone Cold Steve Austin, Goldberg, John Cena and Triple H who have tried their hands at acting but none have been able to replicate the Rock’s success.
The crowd had seen through the Rocky Maivia soon after his debut. Maivia was usually greeted with hostile chants of ‘Die Rocky Die’ and ‘Rocky sucks’ during his early days. WWE creative were quick to react to this heat and turned him heel. He joined the Nation of Domination and rose up the ranks as the leader of the stable.
His clashes with Triple H and D-Generation X further cemented the two stars. Finally, the Rock was set for a big singles push when he turned face and started feuding with Mr. McMahon, the biggest heel in the company at that time.
The Rock went on to put some amazing matches at WrestleMania against the likes of Stone Cold, Hulk Hogan, Mick Foley, Triple H, and Big Show. The Rock returned in 2011 with a deal to work three WrestleManias. He hosted WrestleMania 27 and then main evented the next two WrestleManias with John Cena.
The Rock is undisputedly one of the biggest wrestlers the world has ever seen. Perhaps, the best talker that has graced the WWE ring. Together, he and Stone Cold Steve Austin ushered in the Attitude Era and pulled out WWE victorious from the Monday Night Wars.
He is a 10-time world champion and can light up the atmosphere even if he isn’t competing in the ring. He is bound for more success both inside the ring as well as out of it.
Johnson met Dany Garcia, his first wife while attending the University of Miami in 1992. The couple wed in 1997 and have a daughter named Simone Alexandra. They divorced in 2007 and subsequently, The Rock began a relationship with Lauren Hashian. The happy couple were blessed with a daughter named Jasmine, who was born in December 2015.
