The introduction to Scott Hall in his Hall of Fame Induction video showcased some of the coolest bad guys in WWE history. Sure, Razor Ramon came before all of them and began the trend to make the bad guy look cool. Since then such characters have come to be known as anti-heroes-characters who don’t possess the virtuous good guy qualities like John Cena but still get unanimous cheers for who they are what they do.
When the Shield came to the WWE they sure acted like the Hounds that they claimed themselves to be. They overpowered their opponents, outnumbered them, triple powerbombed them and left. The moment they arrived for their first match at TLC set the foundation for their now ongoing legacy.
Not only did they perform spectacularly, they embodied the definition of why one’s first impression is the last impression. The aura surrounding them was like a gathering storm and soon they dominated almost everyone, even the Undertaker. So in little more than a year the Shield has led their fury on almost every superstar in the locker room, except Triple H because, maybe he pays the bills.
There was a time last year when all three of them acted as his bodyguards. And as of raw we still know that they are still in talking terms, even though that alliance seems a bit ruptured, thanks to Kane.
You see, a week ago Kane ordered the Shield to attack Jerry Lawler on the pretext that Lawler assisted and supported Bryan’s Occupy Raw moment. The Shield while building up to hound the King decided to turn around not only physically but also character-wise. They turned away from being heels and locked their sights onto Kane and then gave him the Shield treatment.
That was the beginning of what many are calling the babyface turn of the Shield.
But are they babyfaces? They are still somehow aligned to Triple H who is a monster heel at this point in time.
No, they are still the bad guys who now in popular opinion of an entire arena look really cool. To the hardcore fans, they were always cool and badass. But now, it’s not just one or two sections of the audience that thinks the same. Now an entire arena is behind the Hounds. An entire arena BELIEVES in the Hounds of Justice.
How cool and different is their entrance? They can make an entrance even without their entrance theme.
They are still ganging up on their opponents, they are still very much dominating and overpowering their opponents. They are fearless and ever ready for a fight. We haven’t seen the Shield back down from a fight in a long, long time. They are clearly not built as cowards. They are built like a group to be feared. They are fast and furious. They might just reinvent the film franchise up a few notches.

Right now, all three members of the shield have had their share of the spotlight. Dean Ambrose and a mic are must see and so are his momentary loose canon antics, Roman Reigns is still being build as a powerhouse and has the management’s total attention in getting everybody else’s attention in the arena. But it is Seth Rollins, in recent times, who has actually got the attention of the arena. His moves are magnificent and he has truly become the highlight reel.

Remember the time in the 90s or particularly the Attitude Era where even though someone like Stone Cold or Rock were overpowered in a match or attacked, you knew that the next time their perpetrators locked paths with them they will get an unforgettable beating of a lifetime physically or verbaly. That’s the feeling one gets or will be getting in the coming weeks with the Shield. They are not the Underdogs, they are the Hounds.
