Charlotte talks Divas Revolution, whether she gets picked on for being emotional and more

She’s got the whole world in her hands with some “Flair”

- Some would argue that WWE Diva Charlotte has been given the belt due to her family lineage, but the bottom line is, she is one talented Diva whose athletic and in-ring ability is second to none.

The Divas champion talked about her rise, Divas Revolution, and whether she gets picked on for crying in an interview. Below are the excerpts from the interview:

Her time since her debut at MSG as the NXT Women’s champion up until now

Charlotte is ecstatic about how time has passed ever since her main roster debut at MSG when she teamed up with Sasha Banks to face Nikki Bella and Natalya. She says, “Then a year later, to come back and face Nikki and Brie (Bella) and to have Becky (Lynch) as my partner but to be the Divas Champion, it almost doesn’t feel real.”

She adds, “It just goes to show what or how much can change in a year because ever since I got to FCW and then I was in NXT, you obviously work towards a goal. I wanted to be NXT champion. I wanted to get to the main roster. One day, I wanted to be Divas Champion. It happened so fast that I hope I’m just taking every opportunity to step back and think like, holy, holy cow, I’m the Divas Champion.

On whether she gets teased for crying so much

The Divas champion hasn’t been on the recieving of exasperating comments but says her emotional quotient has been compared to that of her dad. She thinks people are not accustomed to seeing father-daughter and when it comes to herself and Ric Flair it is even more rare.

“Wrestling has been my dad’s whole life and to know that that’s been my whole life and that my dad has been away my whole life because of wrestling and now I’m part of something that meant everything to him. And then losing my brother, which a lot of people don’t bring up. I started FCW to be with my brother and then he died about eight months later, “ referring to her late brother.

She continues, “I went through a lot in the developmental system on a personal level, so it is emotional. If anyone’s lost a sibling suddenly and especially how … I think some people don’t really think, “Why is she so emotional?” But I definitely think that’s one of Charlotte’s strengths or my strengths is because I have been through a lot and I’ll look on it.”

On how much has the Divas Revolution progressed

The athletic wonder claims that people always pick out the negatives and overlook the positives and this case it was three talented NXT women who debuted.

By stressing that the Divas Revolution has been around since the days of Lita and Stratus she says, “I know that we all feel that the Divas Revolution isn’t something that just started when the three of us came up. I think the Divas Revolution has been around for a long time, even since Trish (Stratus) and Lita. It’s just as of right now in this moment in time, there’s a bigger focus on our in-ring ability. Catching the phrase — even with Bayley — The Four Horsewomen, people want to pick fun and say, “What’s making a revolution? They’re this, they’re that.”

“But people are also getting to know who we are on the main roster. Just because we were popular on NXT and then bringing us up to the main roster, it’s kind of like a slogan: Divas Revolution. It’s not saying that the revolution begins or it ends or we’re the revolution or this and that. It’s more of just a catch phrase. We’ve revolutionizing women’s wrestling. We have been for years now. It’s just now there’s new faces, new characters, more demand for women’s wrestling. That’s all it is, “ says the NXT standout.
