WWE Live Event Results: Peterborough (17/12/2016)

Ambrose fought Wyatt in a Street Fight at the event

The latest WWE Live event was held in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada and it featured the Smackdown Live roster.

Several top-tier wrestlers of the brand including the WWE Champion AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Dolph Ziggler and Becky Lynch missed the event. The show was headlined with a Street Fight between Bray Wyatt and Dean Ambrose and featured only one title defence. The results of the event have been provided below:


#1 American Alpha (Chad Gable and Jason Jordon) vs Breezango (Tyler Breeze and Fandango)

The crowd were cheering for the Alphas throughout the match, while there was not much of a reaction for Breezango.

The match was short but the two teams delivered a decent performance. Jordon and Gable hit the Grand Amplitude on Fandango to pick up the pinfall victory.

Result: Amercian Alpha defeated Breezango


#2 Luke Harper vs Mojo Rawley

Zack Ryder’s absence from the event resulted in this singles’ match for Rawley. This was another short contest. Rawley’s performance was impressive but Harper dominated the majority of the match. He pinned Rawley following a Discus Clothesline.

Result: Luke Harper defeated Mojo Rawley


#3 Natalya vs Nikki Bella vs Carmella vs Alexa Bliss (c) [Fatal-4-way match for the Smackdown Women’s Championship]

Natalya received the best pop among the female participants.

The match was not lengthy but all the four women had their moments in the match. Taking advantage of the absence of Nikki and Natalya from the ring, Bliss delivered the Twisted Bliss on Carmella and pinned her for the win.

Result: Alexa Bliss defeated Natalya, Carmella and Nikki Bella to retain the Smackdown Women’s Championship


#4 The Miz (with Maryse) vs Apollo Crews

Prior to the match, The Miz announced that he wouldn’t be defending his Intercontinental Championship at the event.

He was dominating as the match started but soon Crews got the upper hand. Maryse made numerous attempts to interfere but they went in vain. In the end, Crews hit the Pearl River Plunge on The Miz and pulled off an upset win over the Champion.

Result: Apollo Crews defeated The Miz

#5 Heath Slater and Rhyno vs The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor) and The Vaudevillains (Simon Gotch and Aiden English) [Triple threat match]

Rhyno and Slater received a decent pop from the audience. The match was short but packed with back and forth action. Rhyno gored English to pick up the win for his team.

Result: Heath Slater and Rhyno defeated The Ascension and The Vaudevillains


#6 Kalisto vs Baron Corbin

The crowd was really behind the Lucha Dragon for this match.

There were lots of “Lucha!” chants throughout the contest. Surprisingly, Kalisto was dominating the match until Corbin counter-attacked a high-flying manoeuvre into the End of Days.

Result: Baron Corbin defeated Kalisto


#7 Dean Ambrose vs Bray Wyatt [Peterborough Street Fight]

Ambrose received the biggest pop of the night. The two delivered an amazing match, which involved the use of kendo sticks, tables and chairs. Midway through the match, Luke Harper ran in and tried to turn the match in favour of the Eater of Worlds.

Soon, James Ellsworth came to the aid of Ambrose amidst huge cheers from the audience.

Harper took down Ellsworth which distracted Bray Wyatt. Ambrose took advantage of this and delivered the Dirty Deeds on Wyatt and pinned him for the win.

Result: Dean Ambrose defeated Bray Wyatt
