WWE making an impact at Mumbai Comic Con

Fans can now emulate their favourite entrances!

Comic Con is an extravaganza for pop culture purists that allows them to engage in numerous events ranging from discussions, exhibits, buying merchandise and collectables.

While the United States plays host to the bigger and more renowned Comic Cons such as the San Diego Comic-Con and New York Comic-Con, India has its own version of the multi-cultural event.

This year the Mumbai Comic-Con will be held at the Bombay Convention and Exhibition Centre, Goregaon on 22nd and 23rd October.

For the event, WWE is collaborating with Mumbai Comic-Con to allow fans to re-enact the entrance scenes of their favourite WWE Superstars. Be it the Undertaker’s spine-chilling entrance or John Cena’s adrenaline filled walk to the ring; the fans can do it all.

Other themes such as that of Roman Reigns, Kevin Owens and AJ Styles, will also be played for the fans to make glittering entrances with the spotlight shining on them.

A 3-dimensional model of what is to be expected

There will be an entire ramp set up, where fans can make their entrance with the music and lighting effects of their favourite superstars. The fans can also click pictures with their favourite superstars. Furthermore, the WWE 2K17 will be available at the venue, enabling fans to try their hand at the new game.

WWE has realised the potential that the Indian market holds and is trying to leverage this opportunity. India has one of the largest populations that follow pro-wrestling, where WWE superstars such as the Rock, Stone Cold, John Cena, The Undertaker and also Roman Reigns are held in high regard.

A presence at the biggest comic con in India is sure to open the WWE product to a section of comic book and science fiction loyalists. This will help the company reach out to the action figure collectors as well with their versatile range of action figures and play sets.

Who would you enter as?

The first ever Indian Comic Con as it was called then, was hosted at the open-air craft bazaar, Dilli Haat, in the capital city of Delhi.

Held over 2 days, it featured 25 exhibitors and attracted close to 5000 visitors. Since then, Comic-Con has expanded to other major cities such as Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi and Hyderabad.

Over 30,000 people attend the Comic Con in every city. WWE knows this and is looking to cater to the needs of their passionate fans through the convention in one of the biggest emerging international markets.
