WWE News: Chris Benoit's sister-in-law speaks out about the double murder suicide saga

9 years on, Chris Benoit’s death still casts a shadow over the pro-wrestling world

Sanda Toffoloni, Nancy Benoit’s sister, opened up and shed light on the events leading up to the murder of her sister and nephew, Nancy and Daniel Benoit, on the Chris Jericho podcast.

Although the interview was conducted in January, wrestlingnews.co reports that it was released only this week as it marks the 9 year anniversary of the incident that saw Chris Benoit take the lives of both his wife and son, before killing himself.

While Sandra didn’t dispute the notion that Benoit had sustained considerable head trauma due to the risks he took as a performer, she did, however, imply that he was in control of his faculties when the travesty occurred.

Stating that Benoit had begun acting strangely ever since his Wrestlemania 20 crowning moment, Sandra also claimed that the deaths of Eddie Guerrero, Johnny Grunge and Ray Taylor had possibly upset his psyche.

Sandra also mentioned that Benoit had “brutalized” his wife before killing her, and had even googled the methods in which a neck could be broken so as to rig his own workout equipment and device his own suicide.

She also shot down the notion that her nephew Daniel suffered from Fragile X syndrome.
