One place WWE has not ventured into recently was the comic book line. However, now, thanks to Boom! Studios, sports entertainment will meet comics. Boom! Studios will issue the first edition of their WWE comics titled WWE #1.

The comic will be written by Dennis Hopeless and Ross Thibodeaux. The official statement issued was:

BOOM! Studios is proud to present the most authentic line of ongoing WWE comics. Each issue will feature your favorite Superstars in stories that go beyond what you’ve ever seen on TV.”

The retail price will be $3.99.

The very first story arc of the comic will be focusing on “The Breaking Of The Shield”.

It is basically the outline of June 2014 where Seth Rollins backstabbed his Shield brothers Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose after getting a tempting offer from The Game Triple H.

It then goes on to showcase The Architect’s journey to prove himself as a singles star and try to obtain the WWE World Championship, and also focuses on the collision course and crossing of paths he has with his former Shield brothers.

The comic even has a back-up coming featuring The New Day.

There could be no better story to start off with than showcasing the destruction of The Shield, who are considered one of the all-time greatest factions in WWE history.

The importance of The Shield lies in the fact that the three stars broke off in a period where they needed to go forward with singles runs, and WWE believed it was time to set the three on their own paths.

The three stars have always crossed paths in some form or the other. And now, the three are the three top stars of The New Era  and are all prominently featured. Each of them has also been WWE World Champion, with Roman Reigns holding 3, Seth Rollins holding 2 and Dean Ambrose 1.
