WWE Rumours: Possible match card for Clash Of Champions revealed

RAW’s first exclusive pay-per-view will surely pack a punch powered by its star-studded roster

The WWE creative will have the chance to right the wrongs of SummerSlam during the first exclusive RAW pay-per-view Clash of Champions which is scheduled to take place on the 25th of September on the WWE Network. There hasn’t been a lot of information about the matches that will line up the card, but hints of some featuring on the card have already been dropped. Given the crowning of Kevin Owens as the new WWE Universal Champion, a lot of new possibilities have opened up. Let us look at the possible matches that may happen at Clash of Champions.

WWE Universal Championship: Kevin Owens(C) vs. Seth Rollins

This match has all the makings of a classic. Both are great in-ring workers and are perhaps the best talkers on the RAW roster at the moment. After Triple H’s actions on RAW, this seems the natural way to go. Seth could turn babyface and feud against Triple H’s darling boy Kevin Owens. Neither man has a backup feud going on right now, and while it's definitely an option for Roman to get a shot against Owens, Rollins would not have much left to do.

United States Championship: Rusev(C) vs. Roman Reigns

This match was set to happen at SummerSlam but didn’t. There was a big buildup to this match and the two put on great segments on RAW before SummerSlam. It would be strange if Rusev and Reigns are not given the opportunity to settle their differences in a title match. Obviously, the injury to Balor has changed plans up, but with the Universal Championship bout going to Rollins and Owens, the United States title feud would be a good spot for Reigns.

Women’s Championship: Charlotte(C) vs. Bayley

Given that Sasha Banks does not need back surgery, it is highly probable that this match might be changed into a tag team match. But after all, the pay-per-view is titled Clash of Champions and it would be a shame if the Women’s title is not defended. But Charlotte and Bayley will surely put on a show if given the opportunity. There may be an outside interference by Dana leading to Charlotte retaining and then Sasha can have her rematch.

Best of Seven Series: Sheamus vs. Cesaro

This match is essentially a guaranteed to happen but it hasn’t been announced. Cesaro has lost two and it looks like he’ll be opening his account soon. It's unlikely that Sheamus will win three in a row just for Cesaro to win the next three to tie it all up. However, we have already seen them go at it a number of times and at some point, this will become repetitive.

RAW Tag Team Championship: The New Day(C) vs. The Club

The RAW tag team roster is pale in comparison to SmackDown. Thus the matches have a trend of repeating themselves. Also, the previous match between the two tag teams ended in a DQ. It is important to notice that the Club technically won that match despite Big E breaking in and tearing them apart. So it’s only natural that the Club are given another opportunity to capture the tag team titles.

Cruiserweight Championship

The Cruiserweight division is set to debut on 19th September, meaning it would be extremely awkward to bring that into the fold before an event just to ignore it a few days later. This match could end up being a battle royal to determine the inaugural champion, featuring all of the people in the division such as Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa, Brian Kendrick, Cedric Alexander, T.J. Perkins and more.

There are a number of other superstars such as Sami Zayn, Chris Jericho, Neville, Enzo and Cass and Nia Jax that are not featured on this list. It is uncertain as of this writing as to how they will be booked.
