AEW will be presenting its premier spectacle of the year, All In Texas, on Saturday, July 12, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, TX. This will be the debut of its biggest show in the United States after two successful editions in London, England. Being one of the most important nights for All Elite Wrestling, Tony Khan will almost certainly go, as the name says, 'All In' to produce a stellar wrestling show.
So far, three blockbuster matches have been announced for the event. Jon Moxley and "Hangman" Adam Page will clash with the AEW World Championship on the line. "Timeless" Toni Storm will defend her AEW Women's World title against Mercedes Mone. Finally, longtime rivals Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada will clash with their respective titles at stake in a 'Winner Take All' match.
Apart from the matches, huge speculation circulating on social media hinted at the reunion of wrestling legends Cope and Christian Cage for a match against FTR at All In this year. However, those plans have reportedly been delayed despite having the potential to be a massive attraction for the company's biggest show. Here are three reasons the reunion of the former 'Edge and Christian' must not happen at All In Texas.
#3. Christian's ongoing heel run with The Patriarchy to build Nick Wayne
A major reason reported for the delay of Christian Cage's rumored reunion with Cope has been his own faction and its dynamics, The Patriarchy. AEW has invested considerable effort in developing that storyline, portraying Cage as a top heel and hinting at tensions with his "son," Nick Wayne.
This is heading in the direction of building Wayne as a rising star who has already made history by winning a major title at 19 years old. A significant push can come for him at the expense of Captain Charisma at All In Texas, so it makes sense to push back the 'E&C' storyline for a later date.
#2. Time to build up following Cope's return
While Christian Cage has been occupied with his stable, Cope has been absent from television since being viciously beaten by FTR at the Dynasty pay-per-view. With All In Texas only weeks away, there is also less time to have a compelling build-up for his reunion with Cage.
AEW can greatly capitalize on this storyline by taking the time to present a well-crafted program over a few months. This would make the impact of seeing Edge and Christian back together more significant at the right time.
#1. The perfect stage for the reunion is not All In Texas
One of the biggest reasons AEW should wait before reuniting Cope and Christian, rather than pulling the trigger at All In Texas, is a huge event on the horizon. That is the popular All Out event, scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
This is the perfect stage for the reunion of Edge and Christian, who hail from Canada. The pop would be unimaginable for them coming back together in the same country where they met and began their wrestling journey. Moreover, it could also prove to be one of the greatest moments in AEW history.
