We'll begin today's article with a former UFC Champion who has given his take on CM Punk's MMA career. Jim Cornette has lambasted Tony Khan over a recent booking decision.

In another newsworthy report, an AEW star was angry backstage after a recent match. An IMPACT Wrestling star wants to reignite rivalry with Christian Cage.

And last but not least, a rising star recently stated that Bryan Danielson ranks among his top 3 favorite superstars on the all-time list. That said, let's dive into the details of today's roundup.

#5 Former UFC Champion Junior Dos Santos gives his honest take on AEW star CM Punk's MMA career

Junior Dos Santos recently opened up about AEW star CM Punk's MMA career.

While speaking on Throwing Down W/ Renee Paquette & Miesha Tate, Dos Santos revealed that he had talked to Punk in person and believes he's a great guy. The former UFC Champion also stated The Straight Edge Superstar is a role model at AEW:

"Yes. Of course, I was able to talk to him. He’s a great guy. He was doing some great performances over there (in AEW). He was kind of a role model over there as well. He’s great at doing that thing," said Dos Santos.

Junior Dos Santos further talked about CM Punk's MMA career. He admitted that the AEW star didn't do very well over there. However, Dos Santos added that not many stars are courageous enough to do what CM Punk did:

"He didn’t do very well in MMA, but he got the courage to go there and try it. Many guys don’t even try it," Junior Dos Santos added.

CM Punk's UFC run might not have panned out the way he anticipated. However, he's still appreciated for following his dream of fighting inside the Octagon. Regardless, The Second City Saint is currently enjoying rewriting the final chapter of his wrestling career in AEW.

#4 Jim Cornette slams AEW President Tony Khan for misusing Powerhouse Hobbs

Jim Cornette recently lambasted AEW President Tony Khan for underutilizing Powerhouse Hobbs.

Cornette's statement comes on the heels of a recent match in the world title eliminator tournament, which saw Orange Cassidy defeat Powerhouse Hobbs. The latter dominated the entire bout until an argument with the referee allowed Cassidy to pick up a roll-up victory.

The wrestling manager was unhappy with the decision while rationalizing it on his Jim Cornette Experience podcast. Cornette believes Hobbs has all the potential in the world to succeed in his business.

He added that the rising star's match against CM Punk helped him get the spotlight, and Tony Khan should have capitalized on his momentum against Orange Cassidy:

"If I was CM Punk, as soon as I saw the first match on Friday night Rampage, I would have gone to Tony Khan and asked him "Are you kidding me? Is this a rib? I have a match with Powerhouse Hobbs, one of your budding new superstars, who has all the talent, all the potential, all the tools to succeed in the world. And I gave him his best singles match he has ever had and hopefully gave him some on-the-job training and elevated him in people's eyes," Cornette said.

#3 Lance Archer angry backstage after recent match on AEW Dynamite - Reports

Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer recently reported that AEW's Lance Archer was furious after his recent match on Dynamite. The Murderhawk Monster was defeated by Eddie Kingston in the world title eliminator tournament.

The finish to the bout seemingly didn't occur the way AEW higher-ups must have planned. It happened due to Archer's failed moonsault attempt that made him land awkwardly on his head. The aftermath saw Kingston pick up a roll-up victory, which was seemingly rushed to protect Archer.

According to reports, he jammed his neck after that botch. Fortunately, he didn't have any concussion, and the medical team will continue to examine him for further updates. However, Alvarez reports that the AEW star is angry about the entire situation:

"The word we got was that he jammed his neck. He was checked out, he did not have a concussion and I guess they're going to check more stuff tomorrow. He does not have a concussion and he was walking around backstage and from what I understand, very angry about what happened," Bryan Alvarez.

#2 IMPACT Wrestling star wants to face AEW's Christian Cage

IMPACT Wrestling star Matt Cardona recently expressed his desire to reignite a feud with AEW's Christian Cage.

While speaking with WrestleZone, Cardona recalled his rivalry with Cage when they were both in WWE. The former Intercontinental Champion believes things have changed since then, and he's not a rookie anymore.

Matt Cardona added that he would like to get in the ring with Christian Cage to show how much he has grown as a performer:

"Things have changed,” said Cardona. “I wrestled him in 2009, holy s—-, 2009. When I first became the ‘Woo,Woo, Woo!’ guy, and really it was my first like singles run ever because I had been teaming with Brian Myers/Curt Hawkins for my entire career. So I was, even though I wasn’t like a rookie rookie, I was still a rookie to having singles matches. So if we had those good of matches then, when he was carrying me, 100%, he’s a total pro. But now, a decade later, you can bet your a** I can catch up and keep up. I would love to get in there with him and show him how much better I have gotten and also, selfishly, have a kicka** match with one of my favorite wrestlers ever.”

#1 AEW's rising star heaps praise on Bryan Danielson

AEW's rising talent Daniel Garcia has named Bryan Danielson his favorite wrestler of all time.

While speaking on Jon Alba's One on One podcast, Garcia revealed that he had studied Bryan's in-ring technique while growing up. He doesn't think their wrestling style is similar, but a few things that they do might look similar:

"He’s maybe my favorite wrestler of all-time. At least top three. He’s somebody who I’ve studied for years, even before I knew that I was studying wrestling, just by watching him. I would pick up little nuances that he does. I feel like our wrestling styles aren’t as similar as some people like to say they are, but I feel like our, the little things that we do, are a lot more similar than a lot of people would like to notice," said Garcia.

Daniel Garcia is currently on the receiving end of a mid-card push, where he has fought against top-notch stars like Jon Moxley and CM Punk. It will be a dream come true for him if AEW books him against Bryan Danielson down the road.
