#5 "I don't think there's any interest from them" - Released WWE Superstar wants to join AEW
Former WWE Superstar Tegan Nox has expressed her interest in joining AEW after being released by WWE in late 2024. Primarily known for her time in NXT and small stint on the main roster, Nox has had a tumultuous career riddled by injuries.
Speaking in a recent interview with Baby Basile, Nox shared her desire to wrestle in the Jacksonville-based promotion. She specifically cited her interest in facing Toni Storm, a former rival from the independent circuit. However, despite her enthusiasm, Nox revealed that there’s currently no interest from the company.
"I would love to go there. There’s so many people there that I want to wrestle. Like, I really want to tangle up with Toni again. I wrestled Toni for many years on the indies, so I’d like to revisit that...But as far as I know, I don’t think there’s any interest from them, which is a shame. But I would love to go there,” said Nox. [H/T Ringside News]
#4 Eddie Kingston provides update on his condition amid AEW absence
Eddie Kingston has been out of action since he sustained an injury during a match against Gabe Kidd at NJPW Resurgence in 2024. Kingston suffered a torn ACL and meniscus that have kept him away from programming for several months.
In a recent update on Instagram, The Mad King gave fans a glimpse into his recovery. Seen undergoing rehabilitation therapy, Kingston expressed how difficult the process has been.
"I tried to find some 'motivational' quote, but let's be real, sh*t sucked and I hate doing it, but it has to be done," said Kingston on Instagram.
#3 Backstage details on female star's AEW signing [Reports]
English wrestler Alex Windsor has officially joined AEW, and the details behind her signing have now been revealed.
Announcing the news at Pro-Wrestling: EVE’s recent event in London, Windsor stated she was “All Elite” following her match for the IWGP Women’s Title, which she lost.
Recent backstage reports from Fightful reveal that Windsor had been in talks with AEW for some time. Moreover, Windsor's connection to one of the promotion's top stars, Will Ospreay (her real-life partner), further adds intrigue to this matter.
#2 Major challenge from former World Champion was made without AEW's input - Reports
Thunder Rosa shocked the wrestling community when she issued a bold challenge to long-time rival Britt Baker for a Hair vs. Hair match at All In: Texas. However, reports are now suggesting that Rosa made this challenge without any input from Tony Khan's creative team.
The challenge was issued by Rosa on her vlog, reigniting one of the Jacksonville-based promotion's most talked-about feuds.
Speaking on Fightful Select, insider Sean Ross Sapp claimed that Rosa didn’t go completely rogue. The move was reportedly not approved or planned by All Elite Wrestling management. It appears Rosa took matters into her own hands, perhaps banking on the emotional and historical weight of her feud with Baker heading into the All In event.
#1 Top AEW star slams WWE for infamous Brock Lesnar moment: "I thought that was just stupid"
AEW star MVP weighed in on one of WWE’s most controversial moments in recent memory, which was Brock Lesnar’s seven-second win over Kofi Kingston on SmackDown in 2019.
It must be noted that at the time, Kingston had been riding high after winning the WWE Championship at WrestleMania earlier that year in what became known as “Kofimania.”
MVP, who was speaking on the Marking Out podcast, called the booking decision stupid, and pointed out the emotional connection fans had with Kingston’s journey and criticized WWE for seemingly discarding it without care.
"I thought there was no need to do that to Kofi. I thought that was ridiculous. A lot of people felt that way," said MVP. [H/T: Fightful]
Lesnar defeating Kingston so quickly is often discussed as one of the most controversial booking decisions in WWE in recent memory.
