MJF will finally team up with The Hurt Syndicate in just a few days at the AEW Summer Blockbuster, where they will be involved in a trios match. Could the group suddenly kick him out if things go wrong and quickly make a major move?
It took months for Friedman to finally join the faction, and now that he is an official member of the group, he'll be battle-tested. This Wednesday, he'll be alongside Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin in trios action as they face the team of 'Speedball' Mike Bailey, Kevin Knight, and Komander.
The Hurt Syndicate had their reservations about MJF in terms of giving him their trust, but they acknowledged just how good he was as a wrestler. Should things not go their way and Friedman ends up causing a loss, this may force them to make major changes. They could realize that he does not benefit them in any way, and this partnership was never going to work.
They could kick him out of the group and replace him with someone all too familiar to them, a debuting Cedric Alexander. The former WWE Superstar would be a perfect fit, and he is someone the group has great chemistry with in the ring already. This would be the beginning of a feud between them and the former AEW World Champion.
Cedric Alexander doesn't trust MJF
Cedric Alexander has already addressed The Salt of the Earth being added to the Hurt Syndicate, and he did so during an interview with Knockouts & 3 Counts.
The former WWE Cruiserweight Champion talked about his release from the company and how this seemed like fate bringing him back to his stablemates. However, he saw that Friedman was being brought into the group, so he planned on letting this play out as they could grow tired of him. He did not trust him and believed that MJF would show his true colors eventually.
"But then, 'Oh!' I get released. I’m like, ‘Oh! So maybe it is meant to be. This is something I can really look forward to.’ Then I realized MJF is trying to make his way in. I was like, ‘Alright, well... let it play out.' I’m sure they’ll get tired of his shenanigans because he’s MJF. Of course, he’s gonna screw everything up. You know how he works. He’s gonna get the big head, like he always does... MVP trusts him for a little bit, so... cool, whatever. I don’t trust him," Alexander said. [H/T - Fightful]
This would make for an interesting angle should Alexander officially become All Elite. This could lead to a situation where they might have to choose between one of them to remain in the faction.
