AEW will be presenting another four-hour special event this week, titled Summer Blockbuster. The promotion has announced a huge rematch for the TV special, leading to a former champion sending out a message.
Swerve Strickland is set to battle Will Ospreay this week on Summer Blockbuster, in a rematch from Forbidden Door 2024. Following the AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view, Strickland began a feud with Will Ospreay, who has admitted to having tremendous respect for him.
With Ospreay siding with Strickland's rival, 'Hangman' Adam Page, tensions began to boil between the duo. This even led to a brawl breaking out between Ospreay and Strickland backstage on an episode of Dynamite.

Witnessing their feud building up, The Aerial Assassin challenged the former World Champion to a match at Summer Blockbuster. Now, Strickland has posted a brief update on X to hype up their upcoming clash:

Just before the rivalry between Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay kicked off, The Realest One was a part of the Anarchy in the Arena match. The highly captivating and gruesome bout at Double or Nothing involved multiple risky spots, including some by Strickland.
However, one particular instance saw Marina Shafir stapling Strickland's tongue, which left many shocked. However, wrestling veteran Jim Cornette berated him for that spot and called him stupid on his Drive Thru podcast.
"He's a f***ing moron. He is a stupid, stupid individual. 'Cause he's always doing some s*** like this. He's in a blood-drinking spot where he's letting somebody here staple his tongue with a real staple gun and a real staple. And there are some weird individuals who go, 'Oh yeah, that's cool'. With the Summer Blockbuster episode coming up, it remains to be seen who emerges victorious between Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay in their rematch.
