Adam Copeland (fka Edge) and Christian Cage are two of the most recognizable faces in the world of professional wrestling. Both stars are currently signed to AEW. However, they had an iconic run as a tag team and as solo competitors in WWE. René Dupree recently spoke about their backstage attitude in the past.
In the global juggernaut, Copeland won the WWE Championship four times and the World Heavyweight Championship a staggering seven times. Furthermore, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2012. Meanwhile, Christian won the World Heavyweight Championship twice, the WWE Intercontinental Championship four times, and the ECW Championship twice.
Besides their success as singles competitors, the duo also held the World Tag Team Championship seven times. They are still going strong in All Elite Wrestling.
René Duprée recently explained how Copeland and Cage conducted themselves backstage in WWE. On a recent edition of Cafe de René, the wrestling veteran described The Rated-R Superstar as an optimistic guy and The Patriarch as a hardworking professional.
Dominik Mysterio made an outrageous comment recently. More details HERE
"Edge was always a very positive guy, an easygoing guy, you know. Christian was very passionate and a workhorse and always wanted more and more he felt like he deserved more and more; and kind of got the boo face when he wasn't being used because he had so much p*ss and vinegar, right?" Dupree said. [From 1:15:13 to 1:15:49]
Adam Copeland was excited to use his real name in AEW
In an interview with Bleacher Report last year, Adam Copeland revealed that in the earlier stages of his career, he liked to perform under a stage moniker. The Hall of Famer added that he gradually began enjoying using his real name in pro wrestling.
"I was always kind of fighting it kicking and screaming, I was like, 'No, I want to be Adam Impact, or I want to be Sexton Hardcastle' because you need to have, you know, a cool name. And then I came to realize that I actually kind of enjoyed wrestling as Adam Copeland. When I started doing dark matches with WWF, at the time that I was coming in, it was all character names. And kind of like the one-word character name, right? So it's fun actually to wrestle as Adam Copeland."
Adam Copeland made his AEW debut in October 2023. So far, he has won the AEW TNT Championship twice but is currently sidelined due to injury.
