AEW personality opens up on having sleepless nights over small production issues in WWE

An AEW personality recently talked about the pressures of working in the WWE, which led to sleepless nights over minor production issues. The AEW personality in question is Pat Buck.

During an interview with Notsam Wrestling, Pat Buck shared an incident from his tenure in the Stamford-based company working as a backstage producer. During a match between Baron Corbin and Buddy Murphy (Buddy Matthews) in 2020, which involved the Mysterio family, Buck was responsible for messing up a camera angle and failing to capture Aalyah Mysterio's facial expressions.

"So, Corbin slides out and here is Aalyah in his face, just kind of standing there but the spot was near hard cam. Like by that post and they can’t get her face and you would have thought I lit the ring on fire and did something atrocious and I went — on something so minute, you still know she’s there, you’re still getting the Corbin going, ‘Hey! What are you doing?’ But we didn’t get her face and then we continued," Buck said. [H/T Post Wrestling]

Buck said he was stressed after his mistake and lost his sleep over it.

After resigning from WWE, the 38-year-old is signed to AEW and works as the Vice President of Talent Development and a coach in the company. Buck indicated that the work culture in the Jacksonville-based promotion is much more relaxed, and he does not need to panic about small mistakes.

"So when I come to AEW now and I’m like, I get these moments like, ‘Tell the manager don’t go there’ and they’re like, ‘Yo, chill. It’s fine. It’s fine. We still know there’s a manager there…’ And it’s not a right or wrong. It’s just kind of embedded. I can never say belts ever again. It’s always title, it’s always championship. But I do love that about AEW. I don’t have to panic about those things," Buck added. [H/T Post Wrestling]

AEW needs to improve the production quality to compete with WWE, says Disco Inferno

Speaking on the Keepin' It 100 podcast, Disco Inferno said AEW would get a raise in their Television deals and should use the money to improve the production quality of their shows.

The veteran said that Titanland is far ahead of the Jacksonville-based company in terms of video package production and character presentation and added that AEW has a lot of distance to cover in this department if it wants to be seen as a legible competitor to WWE.

"I think if they put the money into the production and make the visual product look better, then they might be able to compete," said Inferno.[From 02:05 - 02:12]
