Chris Jericho has done something that he does not do very often, and that is apologize. The former WWE star is known to be brash and haughty, and doing something like this is out of the blue.

The star to whom he apologized was Hook. Chris Jericho said sorry after he pushed Taz to the mat on last Wednesday’s Dynamite. That saw Hook lose his temper and threaten Y2J to leave the ring. Now, The Ocho has taken the chance to apologize but also laid down the challenge to Taz’s son for the FTW Championship at Dynasty pay-per-view.

Chris Jericho cut a backstage promo when he said:

“Hey everybody, first of all I want to apologize to Hook, Taz and all of you watching for my conduct this past Wednesday night. I lost my temper and I pushed Taz to the mat which made Hook lose his cool and he came at me. Listen, I don't blame Hook for that at all. I mean if somebody put their hand on a person that means as much to me as Taz does to Hook, I would have done the exact same thing," said Jericho.

He continued:

"And when you had me in the corner Hook, you said to me, ‘I am going to show you how good I am any time, any place, anywhere and unfortunately, I am going to take you up on that. That's why I went to Tony Khan and asked for a match for the FTW Championship at Dynasty, which he granted.” [0:00 - 0:39]

Chris Jericho vows to teach Hook a life lesson

Chris Jericho then continued the promo and said that he would teach Hook not only how to be a good wrestler but also a life lesson.

The former AEW World Champion said that he would take the FTW Championship away from Hook.

“The unfortunate part is this, the Learning Tree is going to teach you one of the hardest lessons you are ever going to learn. A lesson about humility. A lesson about how hard it is to lose something that means so much to you, that is so valuable to you. But the Learning Tree is going to make sure, Hook, that you are not just learning lessons in the ring, you are learning life lessons as well. I want to make you a better wrestler. I want to make you a better person. So just keep this in mind. I am going to beat you for the FTW Championship but it is going to hurt me a lot more than it is going to hurt you. So see you on Sunday, Hook,” he concluded. [0:40 - 1:18]

It will be interesting to see who emerges victorious at AEW Dynasty and how this rivalry between these two stars develops.
