Former WWE star CJ Perry (fka Lana) recently reflected on her much-awaited return to pro wrestling after a lengthy break.

At the All Out pay-per-view this year in Chicago, CJ Perry debuted in AEW. This marked her first televised appearance in a pro wrestling promotion since her WWE exit in June 2021. Upon her arrival, she rescued her real-life husband and long-time on-screen ally, Miro, from a post-match attack by Powerhouse Hobbs.

In a chat with Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Perry discussed Miro's AEW signing and her WWE exit two years ago.

"When Miro first joined AEW, I was still in WWE, that was in 2020. He started there in September, I think. But I was in WWE still, and I had a very lucrative contract, and I was on TV every week, so we both thought it made sense for me to stay. And then, when I finished my time [with WWE] a year later, Miro wanted me to come over to AEW. He was plugging me in the story, and that's how I got the name 'hot and flexible.'"

The 38-year-old further explained why she took a hiatus from pro wrestling:

"I needed a little bit of a break. I wanted to be home for a little bit, and I wanted to do things. I didn't want to jump right back on the road. So I took a little bit [of time], about a year, and it was just trying to figure out the time. Tony Khan has great things going on with his show. I had things going on, Miro had things, and it was all about timing." [H/T Sescoops]

CJ Perry (fka Lana) hinted at managing a former WWE star

Although most fans thought the former Lana arrived in AEW to assist her husband, Miro, she seems to be on a different path. She also told her husband to stay away from people she would manage in the promotion. Amid all the speculation about her future, the former WWE star teased forming an alliance with Andrade El Idolo.

Perry interrupted Andrade during a backstage promo on a recent episode of AEW Collision, and it could be a sign of things to come.
