Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho has been an integral part of AEW ever since its founding. He was the promotion’s first World Champion, and he brought with him his established audience, adding legitimacy and viewership to the product when it needed it the most. Currently, he is the leader of The Learning Tree faction along with Big Bill and Bryan Keith, where he is mentoring young talent while also maintaining his veteran status.

His last televised match was at Dynasty 2025 on April 20, where he lost the ROH World Championship to Bandido in a title vs. mask clash. On the post-Dynasty episode of AEW Dynamite, Jericho expressed frustration over The Learning Tree’s losses at Dynasty, leading to a dramatic segment where he announced he was going away for a while and stormed out as the crowd sang “Na Na Na Na, Hey Hey Hey, Goodbye.” He has been absent from AEW television since.

Recently, he made a major announcement on X. The wrestling icon and lead singer of Fozzy announced that he will be appearing at the Washington State Summer Con this weekend.

“Have a great week, everybody! Make some cool sh*t happen and see you all at @wasummercon this weekend!” wrote Jericho.

Jericho taking time off AEW for music tour

Sean Ross Sapp recently revealed on Fightful’s Weekly Q&A Podcast the reasons behind Chris Jericho’s extended hiatus from television, especially during the build-up to All In. He has been a regular presence in All Elite programming over the last few years, and his storylines have consistently been entertaining.

According to Sapp, Chris Jericho’s absence wasn’t due to an expiring contract but because Y2J himself felt that it was a good time to take some time off, considering Fozzy had a tour, despite it being scheduled around Dynamite.

It will be interesting to see when we get Chris Jericho back on AEW TV again.
