Jack Perry has just gotten the best of a former WWE veteran on AEW Dynamite. The two faced off for a spot in the ladder match to decide the next TNT Champion at Forbidden Door. This would be Dustin Rhodes.

This was The Scapegoat's first singles match in the company since All In last August, the same show where the altercation between him and CM Punk took place. The Natural was also making his return to the Wednesday show for the first time since April, where he had an unsuccessful attempt to take the AEW World Championship from Samoa Joe.
As of this point, Konosuke Takeshita and Mark Briscoe have filled two out of the six spots for the match, with the rest to be determined soon.

This match was advertised before tonight, with Dustin even calling out Jack Perry days before the show. After the opening segment, interim EVP Christopher Daniels came out to reveal that this was the opening contest. Despite looking unprepared, Perry took to fight the veteran, even busting him open.
In the end, Jack Perry's dominance would continue on until the end of the match, as he hit Rhodes with a running knee to the face to secure the win and earn him the third spot in the ladder match to decide the next TNT Champion.
