Mercedes Mone (fka Sasha Banks) subtly teases match with WWE star after winning title outside AEW

AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone seemingly teased a match against a former WWE champion after her recent title win. Mone also mentioned multiple other stars, possibly wanting a match with them as well.

Mercedes Mone seemingly wants to lock horns with Lyra Valkyria. The WWE star lost her Women's Intercontinental Championship to Becky Lynch at Money in the Bank 2025. Meanwhile, Mone captured the European Wrestling Association Women's Championship at a recent event in Vienna, Austria.

The CEO now holds four championships, including the TBS Title, the RevPro Undisputed British Women's Title, and the Queen of South Side Title. After winning her fourth title, which is the EWA Women's Championship, The CEO shared a post on Instagram asking who wanted a ride on the "Mone train."

In the comment section of the post, Mone mentioned former Women's Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria, subtly teasing a match with her in the future.

AEW star challenged Mercedes Mone to a major match

AEW star Deonna Purrazzo recently challenged Mercedes Mone to a submission match. On the Lightweights podcast, The Virtuosa said she could make magic with Mone in the ring.

“A submission match [against] Mercedes Moné. I just think we’ve both, like, established careers on our submissions. Me with the Fujiwara, primarily in WWE, with her with the Bank Statement. I just think that the wrestler she is, and she is very much a technician in her own right, and so am I, we can make magic, particularly with a submission match.”

Deonna Purrazzo has been absent from TV for the past few months. Meanwhile, Mone is slated to challenge Toni Storm for the AEW Women's World Title at All In 2025.
