WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross recently discussed today's generation of wrestling locker rooms and compared it to his era. He also had a message for the stars of today and urged them to do better.
Ross has been a part of the industry for over five decades, lending his expertise, knowledge, and voice to several promotions, including WWE and now AEW. He has seen his fair share of talent and has even contributed to scouting for some of them.
During his recent interview with Inside the Ropes, Jim Ross compared how talent in the old days would handle conflict, and how it was a more peaceful manner as compared to the present day. He noted that these days, lawyers would get involved right away to resolve disputes, despite them not being as serious.
“It started out in jest and fun, but it kind of—sometimes it went over the line. So we just had to balance it out as best we can. But that era is over. Everybody would be calling their lawyers, I’m serious. They’d be calling their lawyers, and it wouldn’t be something that the lawyers would recommend that we do and all this other. We’re just having fun. We’re just having fun,” he said.
The veteran then addressed talents in All Elite Wrestling's roster and how they should not complain about their situation, as they only worked once a week. He then jokingly fired a shot towards Kenny Omega.
“That’s what kills me now. I know that the talents in AEW should never b***h about nothing. They work a day a week. Stop it. I don’t—I never got that. Here’s the Tony Garea story: ‘Back in my day, the sheep were afraid of me.’ Is that too close to home, Kenny (Omega)? Pr**k,” he added. [H/T: RSN]

“I’ll find a shot and I’ll continue on with it, but I’m not gonna, this is crazy on the eve of the hours before my surgery it’s crazy to say, I don’t plan on retiring. I plan on getting healthy and getting well and coming back and doing something or somebody. And we’ll see how that works out.” [H/T: Inside the Ropes]
