Ricochet made his AEW debut as a surprise entrant in the Casino Gauntlet Match at All In on August 25, 2024, after leaving WWE just a month prior. Currently, we are almost nine months into his All Elite run, and his transition into the promotion has been largely positive. Fans always complained about his lack of charisma during his entire WWE tenure, assuming he wouldn’t make it big in AEW either.
However, Ricochet has seemingly proven his critics wrong since joining the Jacksonville-based promotion. After turning heel, he has shown an inherent ability to generate heat. This, along with his social media presence, has helped him connect with the audience. He is currently involved in a storyline where he is seen recruiting members in an attempt to create his own stable to help him win a singles championship in AEW.
Given that he successfully revived his career, he spoke to WFFA in a recent interview about his character development in AEW. Ricochet said he took a very strategic approach with his All Elite run, and the plan was always to be himself and see how long it takes to connect with audiences, which might vary.
“From the very first day, I have been very strategic about the development of the character. I’ve been very strategic about how we’ve proceeded and about where Ricochet wants to go. Obviously, the crowd plays a big part in what you’re trying to achieve. But from the very beginning, this had always been kind of the plan. Naturally, how you get there and how long it takes to arrive varies. But yeah, I’ve always had the plan to come in here and be myself. That’s always been the plan. How long it took us to get there and how we got there, that all varies. But yeah, it has always been the plan for me to come in here and be myself,” said Ricochet. [From 8:45 to 9:35]

AEW star Brian Cage might be the first member of Ricochet’s faction
Ricochet has already mentioned that he is looking to form a new stable that can assist him in his quest for singles gold in AEW. A lot of names have popped up as members ever since. One such name is the former FTW Champion Brian Cage. Cage, a genetic specimen, would be a wise addition to his new faction and help Ricochet wreak havoc.
Cage was part of the Don Callis Family before getting sidelined by injury. Tony Khan may consider moving him away from that group, as it is already quite large, giving him fewer opportunities to shine. A new faction might prove career-changing for both Ricochet and Brian Cage.
