An AEW star appears to have sustained an injury tonight at Summer Blockbuster. He seems to have broken his nose and sustained even more damage later on, prompting doctors to check on him.
To begin tonight's show, Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland faced off in a match that ended in a 30-minute time limit draw. During the earlier part of the match, Swerve hit Ospreay with a stiff elbow strike, which seemingly broke his nose, as he had blood gushing afterward.
After the match, The Young Bucks and the Death Riders went after the two stars. The AEW EVPs handcuffed Swerve to the ropes, and they were planning to hit him with a Double Superkick, using his signature shoes, which were made dangerous with thumbtacks attached to them.
As they unloaded with the move, Will Ospreay suddenly rushed in and took a bullet for the former AEW World Champion. An already busted open Ospreay may have just sustained further damage as blood continued to run down his face.
The Bucks knew they had hit the wrong target and simply walked away. Doctors rushed in immediately and tried to stop the bleeding as quickly as possible. Moments later, the commentary team addressed the situation and stated that they would provide updates whenever possible.
