Wrestling veteran Teddy Long has claimed former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon would have fired AEW stars if they had performed violent spots without permission in the Stamford-based promotion.

AEW presented All Out from Chicago earlier this month, and the PPV saw a lot of violent spots, leading to massive backlash from some fans and veterans. Swerve Strickland and Hangman Page had one of the most brutal matches in the promotion's history, and the plastic bag spot involving Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson also received criticism.

In the recent exclusive episode of Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine podcast, Mac Davis asked WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long if the AEW stars would have survived if they performed similar spots in the Stamford-based promotion without seeking permission from Vince McMahon.

The former SmackDown General Manager revealed that Vince would have fired them immediately and would have even dragged the competitors out of the ring.

"If they went out there without Vince [McMahon] knowing, in the first place, that would never happen, because they had to run it by Vince. But in case they didn't run that by Vince and they went out there and put a sack or bat over somebody's head, they would've been fired immediately as soon as they went back to the gorilla. Maybe Vince might [have] even went [sic] down and dragged them out of the ring himself; they wouldn't have put up with that; not one second," he said. [10:50-11:15]

Eric Bischoff believes AEW All Out was ''garbage!''

WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff recently reviewed AEW All Out 2024 and labeled the violent spots at the PPV a desperate move by the Jacksonville-based promotion.

In a recent episode of his 83 Weeks podcast, the veteran claimed that All Elite Wrestling was in a pit regarding the creative aspect of things, adding that the PPV was ''garbage!''

"It's just desperation. I'm just searching for a different way to say it. And its hard. I just think creatively; they're in a pit. And apparently the harder they are trying to dig out of it, the deeper the pit gets. This was garbage in my opinion," he said. [From 34:51 to 35:13]

It will be interesting to see if Tony Khan responds to the criticism in the coming weeks.
