Former WWE and AEW talent reportedly visited TNA; held talks with Tommy Dreamer

A former WWE and AEW star was recently spotted backstage for TNA tapings. This comes more than a month after his release from the Jacksonville-based promotion. This would be Jose the Assistant.

Between 2011 and 2012, he appeared for WWE as an enhancement talent. In 2021, he became affiliated with La Facción Ingobernable in AEW. During his time with them, he managed the likes of Andrade. Eventually, Rush took over, and along with Preston Vance and Dralistico, they became the new LFI. However, on April 1, 2024, Jose was released from his contract.

According to Fightful Select, Jose the Assistant, was recently spotted backstage for TNA tapings for their show in Newport, Kentucky. He was also seen meeting up with ECW icon Tommy Dreamer, but the reasons for this were not specified. There have also not been any reports on his next destination following his release from AEW.

The former AEW name has hinted at a move to WWE

A few days ago, Jose the Assistant teased signing with another major company, WWE. He previously appeared in the promotion 14 years ago as an enhancement talent.

On X/Twitter, the former AEW manager posted a picture of a box of 'C4 Energy Drink', which is a major sponsor of the Stamford-based promotion. He also posted an emoji of an hourglass, possibly hinting at a move sometime in the future.

As Andrade is now with the Stamford-based promotion and affiliated with the LWO, Jose the Assistant could appear as their formal manager or at least assist Zelina Vega, who manages the group at the moment.

Jose also has experience bringing out the best in the people he manages. He could bring out a new killer side in the former NXT Champion and whoever else he chooses to manage moving forward.
