A former star in All Elite Wrestling has seemingly teased a potential jump to WWE ahead of tonight's edition of SmackDown. Tonight's episode of the blue brand will air live in Jacksonville and will feature a contract signing between Cody Rhodes and Logan Paul ahead of their match at King and Queen of the Ring.

Jose the Assistant was aligned with Andrade in AEW before the former NXT Champion departed the company following World's End 2023. He began working for AEW in 2021 but was let go by the promotion last month.

Jose the Assistant took to his official X account (formerly Twitter) to share an interesting image. The veteran took a picture of a box of C4 Energy with WWE's logo on it and seemingly suggested that he could be on his way to the company.

"⌛️👊🏻," he wrote.

Former WWE Superstar on Andrade's decision to leave AEW

NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion EC3 recently commented on Andrade's decision to exit All Elite Wrestling following his loss to Miro, formerly known as Rusev, at World's End 2023 last year.

Andrade returned to the Stamford-based company during the Men's Royal Rumble match in January. The former NXT Champion is aligned with the Latino World Order and teamed up with Rey Mysterio to defeat Santos Escobar and Dominik Mysterio at WrestleMania XL. Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws show, EC3 noted that Andrade's wife, Charlotte Flair, is in WWE, and it was probably a more comfortable environment for the veteran.

"If your wife (Charlotte Flair) is there, is the grass necessarily greener? I mean, there's a bigger forum, and probably... I mean, to trade one former creative tyrant for a new one and to see that maybe things have opened up and changed, and maybe the high morale in the WWE locker room is because Vince (McMahon) is gone, is more welcoming. Plus, you get the familiarity and the comfort, and your wife, and you are in the biggest show in town. Like, seems like a good bet." [9:17 onwards]

Jose the Assistant appeared on WWE television a couple of times back in the day. He lost to Brodus Clay under the name "Jose Vargas" on the August 16, 2011 edition of Superstars and also appeared the following year on RAW in a losing effort to Ryback in a Handicap match.
