A report has just surfaced addressing one of AEW and WWE's possible head-to-head moments in the coming months. This has debunked a previous report and set the record straight regarding the situation.
WrestleVotes previously revealed that NXT is set for a show on August 19 at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia. The Tony Khan-led company previously announced that they were going to hold a seven-show residency, including some ROH shows, at the same arena, which is set to begin a week later from the Black and Silver brand's rumored show date.
PWInsider released a report earlier today, noting that upon consulting the venue's management, there are no WWE shows scheduled on the previously reported date. An official announcement was not made, so as it stands, AEW will be the sole promotion set to use the venue in August.

Tony Khan addressed bringing AEW to the 2300 Arena
While speaking to The Philadelphia Inquirer last month, Tony Khan addressed the opportunity to hold a seven-show residency at the 2300 Arena.
He mentioned how this venue was not only iconic, but he once watched a show in the arena when he was younger. He was also excited to be able to hold multiple shows at the venue.
"I’ve always wanted to bring AEW to the 2300 Arena. It’s one of the most iconic venues in pro wrestling. I went there when I was 13 years old, and I haven’t been back since. It’s not the biggest venue, and I think there would be massive demand if we only did one night or even two nights. So, I think having several nights expanding our calendar at the 2300 Arena and running multiple shows there is the right way to go. There’s a lot of great memories and moments there. There were also some really exciting stories and rivalries — Raven and Tommy Dreamer is one example," Tony Khan said.
AEW found success during its last residency in Arlington, Texas, as the venue was constantly sold out for the shows. The company could top this with the various shows at this year's residency in Philadelphia.
