An update on Adam Cole's injury status has just been revealed. He has not been seen on AEW programming for some time now, and there has been good reason for this.

The Panama City Playboy sustained a severe ankle injury at Dynamite: Grand Slam back in September last year. He has continued to make sporadic appearances for the promotion but has been seen either holding crutches or in a wheelchair. This has derailed some plans for his booking.

Fightful Select has just reported that Adam Cole has not been seen on AEW programming due to him working on his injury recovery. He has reduced travel to work on progressing on this.

Adam Cole claps back at fan questioning his injury recovery

Recently, Adam Cole got into a heated conversation with a fan on Twitter, after the latter challenged him to go to the gym instead of staying on social media, and making random tweets.

The former NXT Champion claimed that he has been indeed working hard for his return to the ring. He made a promise to everyone that he had been giving his all for his recovery.

His full tweet can be seen below.

“My friend… I really mean this. I have never worked harder to get back into the ring than right now. I promise you & the world that I am doing all that I can. And when I do get back into the ring… Eat me,” Cole tweeted.

As of late, Cole's faction, The Undisputed Kingdom, has been running business as usual, with Roderick Strong, Mike Bennett, and Matt Taven continuing to hold championship gold.

But a real test will come for the Messiah of the Backbreaker as he will put the AEW International Championship on the line against his former close friend Kyle O'Reilly this weekend at Dynasty.
