A new report has suggested that Mercedes Mone was not allowed to work with an absent AEW star due to Tony Khan. The star has not been on TV for more than six months now.
Mercedes Mone was reportedly willing to work with absent AEW star Kamille. The 31-year-old star made her debut last year as the onscreen bodyguard for Mone. However, things didn't work out, as Kamille eventually quit her role as The CEO's bodyguard in November last year and has not been on TV ever since.
It was recently reported that Kamille is absent because she is working on a TV project, and she still has a lot of time left on her contract. Amid her hiatus, there is another report on The Brickhouse from Fightful Select. The report revealed that Tony Khan felt that the partnership between Mercedes and Kamille was not working last year.
The report also stated that Mone was willing to work with Kamille and also have a match with her, but it didn't happen, according to multiple sources. Kamille wrestled a few matches on AEW TV before her absence last year. She also competed in an indie wrestling event in February but has been out of action since.
