Ricky Starks has not been used on AEW TV by the promotion in around eight months. However, while the star is still part of the roster, could he be used in any capacity before his contract expires?
The answer to this question would seemingly be yes, this may indeed be the case. It was reported earlier today that the company had extended his contract until the summer of 2025. Despite being on a long-term hiatus since March, both sides were finally able to get on the same page reportedly regarding some booking ideas for him that would get him on TV till his contract's expiry date.
However, a plethora of issues have been surrounding Starks recently. He has just been pulled out of all GCW shows by the company, with Tony Khan reportedly not being on good terms with them. However, this has not affected his current contract and his ability to compete for other wrestling promotions.

Ricky Starks recently talked about the possibility of reuniting with some of his friends in WWE
During a recent interview on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, the former FTW Champion was asked about the likeliness that he could find himself in WWE.
He mentioned that this was a real possibility, as he could end up going somewhere where he had a lot of friends. Currently, he remains close friends with the likes of Cody Rhodes and Jade Cargill who are now WWE Superstars.
“I could end up anywhere actually. It’s not crazy. I understand it, and definitely get it. Like, you know, you just go where your friends are. Yes, I love my friends. I would like to always see them every day in my life, whether they come to me or whatever the case may be. That’s just how it is in life. You have people that you are cool with, and you’re always gonna have people say, like, well, you’re gonna do that because of this person. Ricky Starks' current situation in AEW remains a head-scratcher. It is still unclear what a possible resolution could be for the confusion. Despite Starks being fully healthy and ready for action, it is now all up to the company to decide how things will go.
