Who will face Roman Reigns after King Corbin?

5 possible feuds for Roman Reigns after King Corbin

Roman Reigns will take on King Corbin at WWE Super ShowDown in a Steel Cage match. Two weeks ago on SmackDown, Corbin laid down a challenge to Reigns for a final match, and The Big Dog accepted it. It seems like Super ShowDown will mark the end of this rivalry, which has been going on for months now.

So, who’s going to feud with Reigns once he (hopefully) beats Corbin inside the Steel Cage? There are many options.

The turbulent Road to WrestleMania can turn things upside down at any moment and who knows... Reigns might face someone unexpected in the upcoming weeks.

The former Universal Champion is rumored to work at Elimination Chamber in a 6 Man Elimination Match. As per an advertisement, Daniel Bryan, Braun Strowman, Shinsuke Nakamura, King Corbin, Robert Roode, and Roman Reigns are supposed to fight each other inside the pod. However, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has stated that the match card is subject to change.

Keeping that in mind, we are presenting 5 WWE Superstars who could feud with Roman Reigns after he’s done with King Corbin.

#5 Goldberg

Goldberg returned to SmackDown last week and challenged The Fiend for the Universal Championship. He appeared via satellite and fans weren’t quite pleased with this, as they thought Goldberg’s going to be present in the arena. He’s going to receive a rematch for the Universal Championship in Saudi Arabia on February 27 which he lost against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 33.

However, fans once speculated that Goldberg will face Roman Reigns in Riyadh. Both Superstars have already exchanged words online and this match seemed likely to take place.

But, there’s always a possibility that Goldberg and Roman Reigns could work together after Super ShowDown. The Fiend’s likely going to retain the championship and end his feud with the former WCW star, and he’ll be free to take on whomever he wants to then.

#4 Cain Velasquez

Cain Velasquez could soon be returning from injury

We put Cain Velasquez on top of this list because (a) the former UFC Champion will probably return as a SmackDown Superstar and (b) he is a mainstream name. Velasquez debut match happened against Brock Lesnar and he lost in a matter of minutes.

He has been on the sidelines due to a knee injury and he could be returning sooner rather than later. Reigns vs Velasquez can be a blockbuster rivalry if booked correctly. Both Superstars have lost against Brock Lesnar and both have beaten him too. Besides, both are popular names. Their rivalry would surely generate high viewership for SmackDown on FOX.

However, it’ll be interesting to see if Vince McMahon will allow Velasquez to take on The Big Dog. There were some rumors that WWE management has lost faith in him, but those could be false. Yes, we know that a rivalry between these two seems pretty unlikely at this moment but is there anything in WWE as impossible? No, right?

#3 John Cena

John Cena will be making an appearance on SmackDown Live right after Super ShowDown. Nobody knows exactly why the 16-time WWE Champion is returning at the show but we’re quite sure that it has something to do with WrestleMania.

This year’s extravaganza is happening in Tampa, where Cena lives. He has confirmed an appearance at the show, but many fans believe that Cena could also wrestle. WrestleVotes recently posted a Tweet and stated that there’s “some smoke” regarding ‘Mania.

Some smoke around these 4 superstars and their Mania placements. Nothing definitive, but they could be tied together. How would you like to see if play out? Wyatt vs Reigns for the title & Cena vs Goldberg - OR - Wyatt vs Cena for the title (record #17) & Reigns vs Goldberg?

While we’d love to see Cena vs Wyatt at WrestleMania, how would WWE ignite this rivalry? Perhaps with a Universal Championship Number 1 Contender match at Elimination Chamber featuring Cena and Reigns? The Big Dog could win this match and then challenge The Fiend for the rivalry. If not, then he could lose and challenge Goldberg for a match. Both options are probable.

#2 Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman recently beat Shinsuke Nakamura for the Intercontinental Championship. As per Dave Meltzer, this was supposed to be a long-term program but WWE “blew it off”.

"Strowman-Nakamura was supposed to be a long program and they blew that off right away. The way that the finish was, I don't think that I don't know who Strowman would be going for with the Intercontinental title going forward." (Credits for the transcription)

WrestleMania is still a few weeks away and WWE has got some time to involve Roman Reigns in a rivalry with someone else than The Fiend. Reigns might even lose this match and then make his way to the Universal Championship scene. Although some may think he shouldn’t lose a huge match ahead of WrestleMania, personally I believe otherwise.

Losing against Strowman will make Reigns an underdog in his rivalry with The Fiend, and when he will prevail, it’ll produce a great impact on the WWE Universe. Also, it’ll benefit The Monster Among Men who needs a contender for his title going forward.

#1 The Fiend

The Fiend vs Roman Reigns is the most likely match to occur at WrestleMania 36, possibly at the main event if Vince Mcmahon changes his mind once again. Maybe, WWE doesn't want him to face anybody else before 'Mania and use that extra time to build his feud with The Fiend?

The Big Dog has made it clear that he has his eyes on the title and he wants to regain it. He’s even said that he'd pick The Fiend over Goldberg at ‘Mania if he gets the opportunity to choose one. And this match may happen.

“No offense to Goldberg, I think he’s a great performer, a great Superstar, but I’m into the future right now and helping out the guys who are gonna be in the locker room with me,” said Reigns.

Fans will be excited about this rivalry. The Fiend’s probably the hottest thing in all of WWE and him taking on Roman Reigns at WrestleMania will be one of the highlights of the show. Reigns may start his rivalry with The Fiend before getting involved in a filler match. Will The Fiend prevail The Big Dog at WrestleMania? One wonders what’s going to happen.
