With the first half of the match over, the U-20 Japan National team is set to be very impatient after going into halftime with a one-goal deficit. Therefore, they are bound to discuss strategy for the second half and formulate a plan to defeat the Blue Lock XI.

Amidst this, Sae Itoshi will try to abandon the match. He was seemingly tired of the U-20 Japan National Team members failing to keep up with his play. He had already tried assisting Sendo Shuto with multiple goalscoring opportunities. However, the striker never managed to put points on the scoreboard. With that in mind, he is set to tell his teammates that he will miss the match's second half.

Ryusei Shidou will join the match in Blue Lock season 2 episode 9

As fans must remember, Sae Itoshi wanted to play alongside Ryusei Shidou. However, with Shidou and Sendo being at odds, Captain Oliver Aiku took it upon himself to sort out the fight. Thus, he spoke with Sae and decided that Shidou would not start the match but would be part of the substitutes.

However, with the U-20 Japan National team being at a deficit and Sae Itoshi threatening to leave, Oliver Aiku will finally agree to sub in Shidou to keep Sae happy. With that, fans can expect both Shidou and Sae to play for the U-20 Japan National team in the match's second half.

As evident from the preview, the upcoming Blue Lock episode will reveal the Itoshi siblings' past. When Rin Itoshi was an elementary school student, he aspired to become the world's best striker alongside his elder brother Sae Itoshi.

Sae himself was attracting attention as a genius football player from different clubs and shared the same dream as his younger brother Rin, but something changed between the siblings. The anime has already hinted at the conflict in the first episode but is set to explore it further in the upcoming episode with a flashback.
