Dragon Ball Daima episode 7 recently came out and there was a brief conversation where Panzy asks Goku how he could raise his children, with the protagonist stating that he wasn't very involved in that. This, naturally, had a huge impact on the online fanbase because it fuels a debate that has been around for a long time.
Goku's role as a father has been questioned for decades, with some arguing that he is one of the worst parents in anime history because he wasn't very involved in Gohan and Goten's lives. This Dragon Ball Daima scene added fuel to the fire and fans who have claimed that Goku is a better father than given credit for, came out to his defense because of this moment.

Fandom debates over Goku's recent parenting comments in Dragon Ball Daima episode 7
During the events of episode 7, Panzy and Goku are talking about different things and the former asks him how he was capable of raising children. The protagonist states that he wasn't really involved. This was a moment that made a lot of noise within the community online, resulting in comments such as this scene set back Goku's character.
It is no secret that the legendary protagonist's parenting has been questioned time and time again. The "Goku is a bad father" take has become a meme over the years. This has also been coupled with the fact that some fans believe that Piccolo is Gohan's real father since he spent more time with him, although there are also fans who stand against this narrative.
There is no denying that Goku hasn't been involved all that much when it comes to raising Goten and Gohan with Chi-Chi but many of these situations were not of his control. This is perfectly exemplified by his death when fighting Raditz or getting lost in space after fighting Frieza in Namek, resulting in him not being around his family.
Reactions online
There are always going to be debates regarding Goku's parenting and this recent event in Dragon Ball Daima is only going to further cement that narrative. Some fans believe that the Saiyan had chances to spend more time with his family and chose not to. Meanwhile, others commented on how he chose to remain dead after the Cell fight when he could have been brought back to life.
However, the plot proves Goku's argument of him being a magnet of villains since the following arc, the Buu saga. The arc has Vegeta sabotaging Kaioshin's plan to keep Majin Buu from returning because he wants a chance to fight the protagonist. This emphasizes how Goku's very existence can cause problems, evidenced by the fact that the Saiyan Prince wouldn't have had this mental breakdown if the former didn't return that day.
"They gonna give Piccolo more ammo for being Gohan’s 'real' dad now," someone said.
"Field day for the 'Goku is a bad father' people," another person said.
"It’s not a gag anymore just facts," someone else said.
The people in charge of Dragon Ball Daima were probably aware of the memes involving this topic and Toei Animation wanted to give the community a bit of fanservice. However, this hasn't stopped some fans from seizing this moment to reinforce that Goku was a bad father.
"I mean Atleast they finally being honest," someone said.
"THE BAD DAD IS REAAAAAAL!" another person said.
Dragon Ball Daima continues to be well-received in general by the fandom but this moment has been extremely divisive regarding Goku's parenting.
