With the release of My Wife Has No Emotion anime, the series has finally concluded with 12 episodes. Tezuka Productions faithfully adapted the manga series into an anime as none of the plot points were omitted by the anime adaptation.

This also saw the anime only adapt around 25 chapters of the manga. Generally, a single season of anime with around 12 episodes adapts 30-35 manga chapters. But that wasn't the case for My Wife Has No Emotion anime.

However, unlike the previous 11 episodes, the anime's finale did not remain entirely faithful to the manga. This is often observed in seasonal anime as animation studios attempt to end the series fittingly. But surprisingly, the future developments in the manga are far too out of the box. Thus, here we shall compare the anime ending to the manga.

What are the differences between the My Wife Has No Emotion anime ending and the manga?

Electric stove vs. Gas stove in manga

As fans might remember, in the anime, after Takuma played with Mamoru by making a maze, he went to speak with Mina in the kitchen. Mina was happy with the new kitchen and was looking forward to cooking even tastier meals for her husband.

In the anime, the conversation gets cut off right after Mina notes the four burners on the stove. However, the manga saw Takuma notice that the stove ran on electricity and not gas. Mina was content with the electrical stove and listed its benefits over a gas stove. With that, she essentially expressed how electrical appliances such as herself were far better than any alternatives.

As fans might remember, in the anime, right after the couple spoke about stoves, the topic changed to Mina trying to figure out a nickname for Takuma. However, in the manga what happened was something too out of the box.

Takuma was feeling chilly in the kitchen. Just then, Mina abruptly started moving her hands around him. For a moment it seemed like there was a bug around Takuma but it was later revealed that the home was haunted by a ghost.

As fans must have noticed in the anime, while Mina had started to like Mamoru, she still competed with him over Takuma's affection. Hence, whenever Mamoru would come to sleep between Takuma and Mina, Mina would move him away to cuddle with Takuma.

However, in the anime's finale when Mamoru moves in between the couple during sleep time, Mina does not move him away. Instead, she cuddles with him. This depicted that she had come to form some connection with her "son." This scene wasn't present in the manga.

Postcard invites sent to family and friends in the anime

While this part is very normal for an anime's conclusion, given that it wasn't shown in the manga, it counts as a difference. In the finale, the anime showed Takuma and Mina's friends and family receiving postcard invites to visit the new Kosugi home.

With this, Tezuka Productions effectively showcased all the important supporting characters in the anime at the end of the series, namely Akari, Daisuke, Emi, Koushirou, Arisa, Senju, Rihito, and Super Mina.
