With Mappa stage 2023 having kicked off, the first anime to feature was Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku. While the anime has only released eight episodes so far, fans were expecting news about the next season. That said, the Hell's Paradise stage featured the cast members as they shared their experiences.

Yuji Kaku's Jigokuraku follows the story of Gabimaru the Hollow, who has been sentenced to death. But seeing his determination to live, Yamada Asaemon Sagiri offers him the chance to get his sentence pardoned, as he is invited to go to Shinsenkyo in search of the Elixir of Life, alongside other convicts.

Hell's Paradise cast share their favorite scenes, experiences, and more

While fans believed that the first anime to be featured in the Mappa stage 2023 was Vinland Saga season 2, the schedule seems to have changed as Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku kicked off the event with its cast members.

Surprisingly, Gabimaru's voice actor Chiaki Kobayashi did not appear at the event. Thus four other cast members from the anime appeared, namely Yumiri Hanamori (Yamada Asaemon Sagiri), Aza Choubei (Ryouhei Kimura), Rie Takahashi (Yuzuriha), and Chikahiro Kobayashi (Yamada Asaemon Shion).

The voice actors shared their favorite scenes from the anime and how the experience was. While Yumiri Hanamori described her scene with Rokurouta in detail, Ryouhei Kimura spoke at length about his character Aza Choubei's brother Yamada Asaemon Touma.

In addition, the Jigokuraku stage had a quiz segment where the voice actors tested their wits and knowledge about the anime and its characters.

Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku episode 9 will release in June

Following the release of Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku episode 8, the anime's official Twitter account revealed that the next episode would not be released on May 27, and instead, it would be released a week later on Saturday, June 3, 2023.

While the reason for the same has not been revealed yet, fans believe that the animation in the Jigokuraku anime had been lacking a bit recently. Considering how the upcoming episodes are set to have some intense scenes needing some quality animation, fans believe that MAPPA has taken a break to attain better finishing for the episodes before they are released.

Previously, MAPPA has come under a lot of criticism for some average-level animation in some important scenes. Thus, after observing the criticism of the anime in the recent episodes, the executives of the studio may have taken the decision to avoid any complaints by fans when the episodes do premiere.
