Me and the Alien MuuMuu anime confirmed for 2025 

On Thursday, November 28, 2024, a new website and X account were opened to confirm the production of the Me and the Alien MuuMuu anime. According to the announcement, the alien comedy anime will premiere in 2025. The staff has released a teaser visual and information regarding the primary cast members.

Prior to the official announcement, the anime adaptation's news was leaked from the cover illustration of the January 2025 issue of Shonen Gahosha's Young King Ours magazine. The magazine is set to be released on December 3, 2024.

Notably, Hiroki Miyashita launched the series as a one-shot in the Young King Ours magazine in April 2019. Two months later, the series was green-lit for serialization. Shonengahosha released the seventh tankobon volume of this manga in May 2024.

Momo Harumi stars as Sakurako Umeyashiki, while Etsuko Kozakura voices Mumu. The anime's official staff has shared the comments from the respective voice actors on the X account, where they revealed how elated they are to be part of the series.

Etsuko Kozakura mentions how she was captivated by the story when she read it first. She feels the series will make fans laugh, get nervous, and relax while learning about home appliances. Likewise, Momo Harumi has urged fans to look forward to the series.

The narrative for the Me and the Alien MuuMuu anime follows a cat-like alien from a distant galaxy called MuuMuu, who arrives on Earth. The alien wants to learn about the home appliances technology on Earth to recover the technology his species lost on his original planet.

During his expedition, the cat-like alien meets Sakurako Umeyashiki, whose university life turns upside down. The anime will likely show Mumu's adventures and actions on Earth, which will alter the planet's trajectory.

Notably, the name of the titular character is a homage to Mu, a magazine on paranormal activities. Many shows and movies, such as Occultic; Nine, the Weathering With You movie, and other media have referenced Mu in the past.
