On Friday, October 13, 2023, the official website for the Metallic Rogue anime series began streaming a third teaser promotional video for the series, also announcing the full staff. The series is an original anime television series being produced by Studio Bones as a means of celebrating the studio’s 25th anniversary.

The Metallic Rogue anime series is set to premiere in Japan sometime in January 2024. A more exact release date has yet to be confirmed at the time of writing. The series is confirmed to stream internationally as episodes air weekly on Japanese network television.

The Metallic Rogue anime is set to follow the titular Rogue in a world where humans and androids coexist. Rogue, an android girl, is on a mission on Mars with her partner Naomi. The pair’s goal is to murder the Immortal Nine, who are nine artificial humans considered hostile to the series’ governing political body.

As mentioned above, the Metallic Rogue anime’s third teaser promotional video was released alongside the announcement of the full staff for the series. While there have been minimal cast announcements, Yume Miyamoto has been confirmed to star as the titular Rouge, with Tomoyo Kurosawa co-starring as Rogue’s partner, Naomi Orthmann. It is likely that future news on the series will announce more cast members.

The series is set to premiere on Fuji TV’s +Ultra programming block in Kapan sometime in January 2024. Crunchyroll has already confirmed that they will stream the series internationally as new episodes air weekly in Japan. It’s currently unknown if any other platforms besides Crunchyroll will be streaming the series. The series is described as a “tech noir” anime, with the currently available synopsis further suggesting a murder-mystery-esque feel.

The previously announced staff for the series includes Motonobu Hori as director, with Studio Bones producing the animation. Yutaka Izubuchi handles the series scripts and also serves as chief director for the series. Toshizo Nemoto is writing the screenplays for the series, while Toshihiro Kawamoto is designing the characters. Taisei Iwasaki is composing the music alongside Yuma Yamaguchi and Towa Tei.
