The 2024 season saw Luis Arraez win the batting title with his third team. An unprecedented feat, the Venezuelan is slowly becoming a household name around MLB and beyond.
Recently, Arraez' wife Gladys took to social media to show off her latest outfit. Rocking some baggy jeans and a fitted tanktop. Although Gladys appeared to be passing time at home, that did not stop her from dressing up to the nines.
Like her husband, Gladys originally hails from Venezuela. A model and homemaker, Gladys Penalver Arraez is very often on social media, posting frequently for her 33,000 followers frequently. She is 26 years old and the mother to Emma and Esther, two daughters.
Since making his MLB debut for the Minnesota Twins in 2019, Arraez has gained notoriety around the baseball world for his ability to get hits. Nicknamed "The Sprinkler", Arraez posseeses an uncanny ability to hit the bal to all corners of the field to register hits.
In 2023, Arraez was traded to the Miami Marlins, where his top-tier hitting only continued to impress fans. In 2023, the shortstop hit .354/.393/.469, winning a Silver Slugger Award and the second straight batting title of his career.
"Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there. To my mom, sister and wife, thanks for never stop fighting, for the unconditional love and support. God bless you all! ¡Feliz Día de las Madres a todas las madres" - Luiz Arraez
In May, Arraez was traded to the San Diego Padres. In 117 games for the Padres, Arraez hit .318/.346/.398, enough to win the batting honors for the third time in his career.
Luis Arraez is a different kind of hitter
This season, Arraez went 141 plate appearances without a strikeout, a figure that represented the longest such streak in two decades. The pitcher who struck him out, Spencer Arrighetti of the Houston Astros, told MLB.com:
“I respect that guy a lot, and what he does is absolutely crazy in the game that we play today, It meant a lot to me, for sure. Hats off to him, too. He got me on the same pitch. It’s not like I can just walk away feeling great. It wasn’t an 0-for-3. He still got me."
Though the offseason is lasting longer than Luis Arraez would have liked, time spent with Gladys and the children will seem fleeting when the 2025 season gets underway.
