Lowrie reflected on his career without regret, thanking everyone he encountered along the way:

"I was lucky to learn from some of the pillars in our game. And hopefully, I did my part in passing on that institutional knowledge to the next generation."

He also wrote about how the game has changed since he made his MLB debut in 2008:

"The players have never been more talented than they are right now. I'm amazed how high the bar has been pushed during my career. The game has changed."

"October 6, 2008, Jed Lowrie propels the Red Sox to the 2008 ALCS with a 2-out, walk-off single scoring Jason Bay in the bottom of the 9th off Scot Shields of the LA Angels. The crowd noise in these games are incredible," Boston Sports Info tweeted.

Jed Lowrie went on to play four seasons with the Boston Red Sox before being traded to the Houston Astros in a package for relief pitcher Mark Melancon. After spending 97 games with the Astros, Lowrie was traded to the Oakland Athletics, where he would spend the majority of his career.
