Giancarlo Stanton won the ALCS MVP after the New York Yankees defeated the Cleveland Guardians 4-1. Stanton's ALCS MVP win was almost unsurprising, evidenced by his spectacular stats. The former NL MVP also become the outright record holder for fourth-most postseason home runs in Yankees history with his 2-run homer in Game 5.

Ruth, Judge, and Stanton were tied on 15 postseason home runs before Game 5 of the ALCS. Despite beating the legendary Babe Ruth's record, Stanton remains focused on achieving ultimate glory in the MLB.

Speaking to MLB Network's Lauren Gardner after Game 5, Stanton admitted it was awesome to beat Ruth's record, but remained humble and ambitious in his response.

"But Babe Ruth has [World Series] rings, and I don't. So, that's what I'm working for," said Stanton.

Ruth has 7 World Series rings, and at 34, it's doubtful Stanton could get close to the MLB legend. However, with his current teammates Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, and others, Stanton could win multiple World Series rings before all is said and done.

Next up for the Yankees is either the Mets or Dodgers. Shohei Ohtani's Dodgers currenlty lead the NLCS against the Mets 3-2. One more victory would clinch a spot against the Yankees, a dream scenario of Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman vs. Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, and Stanton.

Giancarlo Stanton praises Juan Soto's heroics

Giancarlo Stanton tied Game 5 for the Yankees with a two-run shot off Tanner Bibee in the top of the sixth inning. With the game knotted at 2-2 after nine, Juan Soto delivered the decisive blow, launching a three-run homer in the top of the 10th. Soto then sealed the victory by catching the final out, securing the Yankees' win.

In the interview with Gardner, Giancarlo Stanton praised Soto after revealing he told the Dominican "You're the man" after the three-run homer.

"I mean what else can we say? He's built for that moment, and he took of care business, and sent us to the World Series," said Stanton.

Nonetheless, Giancarlo Stanton's power at the plate was a key factor in the Yankees' success during the series. In 18 at-bats, Stanton collected 5 hits, with 4 of them being home runs, driving in 7 RBIs.
