Can I stream MLB Network on fuboTV in 2023? Subscription prices, details explored

Toronto Blue Jays v New York Yankees
Fans can catch streamed MLB action on fuboTV in 2023.

The short answer is yes. You can stream MLB games on fuboTV. With the MLB season now less than two months away, fans are beginning to consider their options to watch all the action. In case you won't be attending all 162 of your team's games in person, we've got you covered.

MLB.TV, the league's main streaming service, recorded 11.5 billion minutes of streamed action across their platform in 2022. This was the highest number in history and represents an increase of nearly 10% from the previous year.

Although fans are opting to stream the action in record numbers, traditional broadcast outlets like TBS, Fox and ESPN still have the edge in consumer numbers.

During the 2022 World Series, nearly 12 million people tuned in to Fox and its affiliates to watch the Houston Astros take on the Philadelphia Phillies. During the regular season, though, things like blackout restrictions and cable fees often push fans in the direction of streaming options. That was evidenced by the impending default of Bally Sports, who hold broadcast rights to several MLB teams.

"Wonder how fans will watch games now that Bally leans closer to bankruptcy (having missed first interest payment). Time for MLB to experiment direct to customer streaming, I say.." - @ Derek on Hwy 92

One of the most popular streaming services around for baseball fans at the moment is fuboTV. Founded in 2015 as a soccer streaming service, fuboTV expanded to cover most pro sports in 2017.

FuboTV began streaming MLB games in 2021 and had great success. By the end of 2022, they announced that there were roughly 1.23 million people subscribed across North America.

Fubo has agreements with four national sports broadcasters, which allows them to stream their content. These broadcasters are FOX, FS1, ESPN and the MLB Network. One notable exception is TBS, who have not come to any agreement so far with Fubo.

"Anyone use FuboTV? Seems to have all the necessary TV channels and going to get Bally SD. Basically just need that and MLB TV." - @ Giannis Auntiegotapoodle

Currently, a subscription to Fubo costs $74.99 per month. Packages can be obtained for between $12-15 if you wish to stream only one or two local stations.

FuboTV represents paradigm shift in baseball spectatorship

There can be no doubt that a service such as Fubo gives ultimate control to the viewer.

No longer constrained by regional restrictions, hardcore baseball fans in Seattle, for example, will have no issues watching a game between the Toronto Blue Jays and Miami Marlins.

In addition to carrying large, national broadcast outlets, Fubo will also feature streams from a plethora of local stations. That makes it perfect for fans who are interested in catching some out-of-market games but were previously not able to do so.
