The Los Angeles Angels' season did not get off to the start the team hoped for, and Aaron Loup was a big part of the reason why. He came into the game and pitched .1 innings, quickly allowing two hits that resulted in two runs. This caused the Angels to lose the lead that they were never able to regain in a 2-1 loss on Thursday.

There was no bigger critic of Aaron Loup's performance than Aaron Loup, although some fans attempted to rival him in that department. The starpower of the Los Angeles Angels is without question, but their depth has always been the issue. If the bullpen is not able to hold the leads that they have, they will not find themselves with many wins at the end of the season.

Sam Blum of The Athletic shared Loup's harsh remarks on Twitter.

The opening day loss to the Oakland Athletics was not the vote of confidence that Angels fans were hoping to start the season. After underperforming for the past few seasons, there is hope this is the year they put it all together. This hope is neccessitated by the fact that Shohei Ohtani will be a free agent following this season.

Aaron Loup has a career ERA of 3.18, which is a solid mark for any relief pitcher. He will have to put this performance behind him and regain his high level of play. If he can't, the Angels' bullpen will remain a weakspot for the team for the entire season. Considering they play in a division with the Houston Astros and Seattle Mariners, they need to minimize their weaknesses.

Players are almost always more aware of their own poor performances than any outsider could be. Aaron Loup admitting to his mistakes and owning them is a good sign that he will be able to progress.

The Los Angeles Angels failed in their first outing of the year but have nowhere to go but up now.

The American League is no cakewalk this year, making it tough for the oft-underperforming Angels. They need to finally put all the pieces together and field a complete team around their stars. If they can't, they could very well lose one or both of their stars in the offseason.

The Los Angeles Angels will have the chance to prove all of their doubters wrong this season if they are able to capitalize on their opportunities.
