Los Angeles Dodgers fans were quite disheartened to hear that pitcher Noah Syndergaard may no longer be able to pitch at high velocities. Syndergaard used to be able to reach the 100 mph mark with relative ease but has seen his speed wane in recent seasons. Before signing with the Dodgers, he believed he could get it back up to where it was, but he has seemingly resigned himself to that being impossible.Syndergaard was an All-Star in 2016 and was considered a pitcher on the rise. However, he has only declined since then, in part due to injury issues. With the Dodgers, he has a chance to re-establish himself as an elite pitcher, but he will have to do it without his fastball.Los Angeles Times sports writer Mike DiGiovanna shared the comments from Noah Syndergaard on Twitter.Mike DiGiovanna@MikeDiGiovannaWhen Noah Syndergaard signed with #Dodgers, he said, "I see no excuse why I can’t get back to 100 mph." A pitcher without a top-tier fastball can be figured out and countered a little too early to truly be dominant. This is a very frustrating situation for Los Angeles Dodgers fans, who hoped they had found another top pitcher.Anthony M@AnthonyM1030What the hell happened to this guy twitter.com/mikedigiovanna…Mike DiGiovanna@MikeDiGiovannaWhen Noah Syndergaard signed with #Dodgers, he said, "I see no excuse why I can’t get back to 100 mph." The league has given him good experience and he has played against the best the game has to offer. If he is losing the physical tools that made him successful, he needs to lean on that experience and knowledge to be effective.Matt Lazzaro@MattLazzaro31Noah’s fastball has really taken a huge dip over the last few years… but 93.4 average!? Pressure affects different players in different ways and Dodgers fans are worried it will damage Syndergaard's performance. If it does, they will require another starting pitcher for 2023.IraSamet@madteam3@MikeDiGiovanna Even though I hated how he left the Mets, this makes me sad. :(3@MikeDiGiovanna Even though I hated how he left the Mets, this makes me sad. :(N1 94@1hardliquor@MikeDiGiovanna If he's ineffective this year"If I can't get anyone out, that's fine. Many believe the San Diego Padres have surpassed them with their busy offseason filled with additions.Until proven otherwise though, the Los Angeles Dodgers have to be the presumptive favorites to win the division in 2023.
