Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg took to Twitter to wish luck to Diamondbacks' rookie ace Brandon Pfaadt before his NLCS Game 7 start against the Phillies.

The Mayor tweeted:

"He's a hometown kid who pitched for @BUKnightsBSB and is now starting Game 7 for the @Dbacks with a trip to the World Series on the line."

Emerging as a hometown hero, Bellarmine University alumnus Brandon Pfaadt has quickly ascended from collegiate play to the Show. In his rookie year, Pfaadt is shouldering the role of an ace pitcher in high-stakes playoff games.

"Good luck tonight," Greenberg tweeted.

The stakes are undoubtedly high for Pfaadt, who has become a fixture in the Diamondbacks' playoff rotation. Game 7 will mark his third start this postseason where he has either kicked off or concluded a series.

Pfaadt was the starting pitcher in Game 1 of the wild-card series and Game 3 of the NLDS. Tonight, he goes head-to-head against Phillies' pitcher Ranger Suarez.

Brandon Pfaadt's postseason performance has been notably strong against teams like the Dodgers and the Phillies.

However, his initial appearance in the wild-card series against the Milwaukee Brewers was less than stellar. The rookie allowed three runs on seven hits in just 2.2 innings.

This shaky outing paralleled his regular season struggles, where Pfaadt gave up 22 home runs in only 96 innings. With a win tonight, he will be looking to cement his place in D-backs' history.

It won't be easy though. The Phillies have hit a remarkable 23 dingers in 12 games, showcasing a remarkable display of offensive firepower. This feat is second only to the 2004 Astros, who blasted 24 home runs during the first 11 games of their playoff run.

For Pfaadt, tonight's game is an opportunity to solidify his standing as one of the league's emerging talents. With a trip to the World Series on the line, the support from his hometown mayor and fans will certainly provide a boost.
