MLB fans react to Vanessa Hudgens and Cole Tucker's engagement news: "Well at least someone on the Rockies is winning"

Colorado Rockies outfielder Cole Tucker (currently with the Reno Aces) got engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Vanessa Hudgens. It has been reported that the couple have been happily dating since 2020 and have decided to take the next step in their relationship. It was speculated that the question might have come up when the couple were vacationing in Paris.

Cole Tucker's 2022 season began with him playing for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He moved to the Arizona Diamondbacks before signing as a free agent with the Colorado Rockies, where he was shifted from shortstop to outfield. Vanessa Hudgens was spotted attending many of her boyfriend's games, cheering him on from the stands.

The premiere of the entertainer's film "Tick, Tick, Boom!" took place at the AFI Fest Opening Night Gala in November 2021. The pro athlete and entertainer made their red carpet debuts there as a pair. Vanessa Hudgens admitted that she initiated contact with Pittsburgh Pirates player Cole Tucker by slipping into his direct messages.

Tucker played for the Pirates for the previous four years before being called up in 2019. In 2022, he appeared in 63 plate appearances over the course of 18 games, batting .175 with no home runs and two RBIs.

The 2006 Disney Channel movie "High School Musical" starred Hudgens, aged 34, as Gabriella Montez. She eventually appeared in three movies in that franchise, in addition to "Bandslam," "Spring Breakers," and "Bad Boys for Life," as well as other films.

Tucker was rumored to have been romantically involved with Margot Robbie at some point while he was a member of the Pirates. However, nothing was ever proven. Hudgens has dated Zac Efron and Austin Butler in the past. The actress later met Cole in Los Angeles in 2020, and following their initial instantaneous spark of a romance, the two haven't parted ways since.

Both Hudgens and Tucker have been very open about voicing their love for each other from the beginning. They have also been spotted multiple times supporting each other in their fields of expertise. Now that they are engaged, everything seems to be falling right into place for them.
