Jackson Merrill agonizingly came close to bagging the 2024 National League Rookie of the Year but lost to Paul Skenes. Nonetheless, like Skenes with his girlfriend Olivia Dunne, Merrill is enjoying his offseason with his partner, Sammie Quinn.
On Wednesday, Merrill shared a snap of him with Quinn on his Instagram stories. In the selfie, the San Diego Padres All-Star appeared cozy with his girlfriend, who had her hands around his neck. The two were in casual attire, possibly at a party, as Quinn had a glass in her hand. Merrill and Quinn smiled happily in the selfie.
In the subsequent snaps shared on his Instagram stories, Jackson Merrill posed with his friends with a hilarious facial expression on his face. The background of the selfie looked like they were at a party. His attire was the same one when he took the selfie with Quinn.
Quinn has been with Merrill through thick and thin, from his minor league days, and possibly before. She was ever-present at Perco Park during the postseason and even struck a good friendship with Padres aces Michael King and Joe Musgrove's partners, Shiela and Arica Rose.
In a recent interview, Musgrove said Arica and Sammie get along well, complementing his relationship with Merrill. Musgrove recently underwent Tommy John surgery and will only return in 2026.
Merrill and Sammie, with Musgrove and Arica, recently attended the NBA G-League matchup between the San Diego Clippers and South Bay Lakers, which the former won. The Clippers honored their attendance with custom jerseys for the Padres pair.

As for Jackson Merrill's 2024 MLB season, the outfielder was a revelation for the Padres with his clutch slugging. The 21-year-old was an All-Star, Silver Slugger and even appeared on the All-MLB second team. Moreover, he also won the 2024 Players Choice Awards NL Outstanding Rookie Award.
